Types of Batteries

There are many different types of batteries available today. Different battery sizes (these are sometimes called "form factors") Different battery chemistries. i.e.- NiMH, NiCD, NiZN, Li-Ion - Rechargeable, Lithium - Single use (also called Photo Lithium) Which ones are best for which application? Sometimes that is an easy question and sometimes it is not so simple. Many times the answer is "It depends" and that may or may not be helpful.
