What are the pros and cons of each different battery chemistry when it comes to the most common battery size - AA?
Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) AA batteries – are my personal favorite. They are environmentally friendly rechargeable batteries!!!! Everybody loves Greenbatteries. If you use your device a lot over a short period of time, the higher the mAh rating on the NiMH high capacity battery, the longer the batteries will last between charges; but the charge will take longer to be completed. For the best performance, NiMH batteries should be charged fully before use.
Nickel Metal Hydride Ultra Low Self Discharge (NiMH ULSD) AA batteries – are also known as Ready to Use NiMH batteries. These are ready to use when you purchase them!!!
Alkaline AA batteries - if you don't use a lot of batteries and the devices that you do have are not gobbling up your alkalines - you can still use them, you can't beat em for convenience and initial cost. However, if you use lots of them, like many people do, you are wasting money and you need to consider using rechargeable batteries. Better for the environment and your pocketbook.
What can the AA battery go into and work: remote controls for your TV, VCR, and other devices, digital cameras, RC cars, portable power tools, Heavy-use flashlights, CB walkie-talkies, portable televisions, handheld video games, boomboxes, CD players, MP3 players, appliances, shavers, or any other item which will accept a AA sized battery.
